A Mother’s Day Story Rooted in Flowers

Mother’s Day has always meant something special to me—long before I became a mother myself.
I grew up in our family flower shop, where the rhythms of the seasons were marked by blooms and the people who came in to celebrate life’s most meaningful moments. Each spring, as Mother’s Day approached, the shop would come alive in a different way. It wasn’t just busy—it was filled with intention, gratitude, and love, much like the pieces you can find in our Mother’s Day collection.

My mother, a dedicated pediatrician, would join us at the shop during this time every year. Watching her step into this different role—balancing her career with helping in our family business—left a lasting impression on me. She embodied the very spirit of the day we were preparing for: care, dedication, and love given so freely to others.

I watched customers walk through our doors searching for the perfect way to say “thank you” through thoughtful Mother’s Day arrangements. Not just to mothers, but to grandmothers, aunts, sisters, friends, and teachers—anyone who had nurtured, guided, and loved them. Even then, I understood that Mother’s Day was never about just one title. It was about honoring the many ways people show up for each other.
